BUSATIS Double knife

The acquisition and further development of the BUSATIS double knife by Ennepetaler Schneid- und Mähtechnik has decisively promoted ESM's global market leadership in the field of oscillating mowing. Since the takeover of the double-blade cutting technology in 1994, this product line has been continuously expanded. Since then the design and quality of BUSATIS double knives have been greatly developed and improved. The BUSATIS double knife technology is used in a variety of ESM cutting systems. The BUSATIS double knives are distinguished by their user friendliness in both semi-professional and professional applications. The cutters smooth operating characteristics provide for easy operation, the high cutting force of the patented Carbodux® knife blades ensures excellent harvest and cutting results. Due to the wide range of BUSATIS double knife applications, which range from hand-powered mowers for private use to special applications situations with very specific mowing requirements, no general statement can be made with regard to maintenance and replacement intervals. When performing maintenance work the mower operating instructions must be observed. Since blade wear naturally varies due to application and frequency of use, the individual mowing situation must always be taken into consideration. With regard to the BUSATIS double knife it can be stated as a general rule that it may be necessary to resharpen the mowing blades after approximately 5-10 working hours. This regular sharpening should always be carried out in order to maintain the BUSATIS double knife cutting performance at a high level. The blade must be removed from the cutting system and cleaned before sharpening. Followed by an inspection of the knife back and the knife blade, which may not be bent. Straighten if necessary. Only then can the actual grinding process begin in accordance with the respective instructions. Grinding the BUSATIS double knife is done e.g. using a hand grinder with approximately 15000-20000 rpm with a cup-shaped grinding pin.
