Portal mowing system

Portal mowing systems driven on both sides e.g. via rocker arm and connecting rods. Oscillating mowing technology from ESM is used in a variety of professional portal mowers. In terms of the portal mower's area capacity the two most important factors are the bar width and motor power of the drive unit. The fuel consumption, handling and quality of the cut material also depend on these factors. The fuel consumption per acre is lower when portal mowers with large cutting width and powerful engines are used. The mowing characteristics also change when the width of the portal mower is increased. Wide portal mowers usually provide improved adaptation to uneven ground and correspondingly a better cut. In addition to size and condition of the mowing area, the right cutting width choice also depends on other factors. For example, the local conditions must be to take into account, in particular access and passage possibilities. These factors are often used to determine the design and width of the portal mower. Gates, narrow paths and other natural or artificial limitations sometimes restrict access and thus the width of the mower. The specific design must be considered when working with portal mowers.
