Rapeseed cutting systems

For harvesting rapeseed special ESM rapeseed mowers and rapeseed cutting systems are used. These differ from the technical design of professional mowers and cutting systems, as they are used for hay, vegetable and grain harvesting. In addition to a horizontal mower system, rapeseed cutting systems have two special rapeseed harvester heads, vertically mounted on the flanks of the cutting table. Such rapeseed harvester cutting systems are constructed in a very lightweight design that enables them to be driven with little force. This energy-saving design is advantageous because these vertical harvester heads are normally driven electrically. The special design of rapeseed harvester heads is generally necessary because of the growth of mature rapeseed plants is significantly different from the growth of a grain field. While plants whose stalks regularly grow vertically upwards can be mowed well and harvested with horizontally aligned cutting systems, other methods are necessary for harvesting rapeseed. Rapeseed plants intertwine strongly and form the typical dense structure of a rapeseed field. Such a harvest ripe rapeseed field can not be harvested efficiently with a conventional harvester. For this reason rapeseed tables have vertically aligned rapeseed harvester heads on each side to cut the rapeseed plants gently and form a gate for the actual harvesting process. Rapeseed harvester heads are commonly called rape cutters. The vertical installation and lightweight construction of the ESM rapeseed harvester heads make it possible for the rapeseed plants to be cut easily and with little vibration. This harvesting method has the advantage that the delicate seeds of the rapeseed plant remain in the crop and do not fall out prematurely. Vibration losses of this type in the rapeseed harvest are to be prevented whenever possible, since this reduces the crop yield. The ESM rapeseed harvester heads are designed, as with all ESM cutting systems, under the company's high quality standards. The special double blade harvester heads perform the specific mowing applications associated with the rapeseed harvest confidently and reliably. High-quality rapeseed harvester heads that are equipped with ESM rapeseed knives are able to significantly increase the yield per acre.
