In 1994 ESM took over the double-blade cutting technology from the BUSATIS works, which were situated in Hückeswagen at that time. This acquisition represented an important step in the company development of ESM Ennepetaler Schneid- und Mähtechnik. BUSATIS technology was an ideal complement to the existing product range and has contributed to ESM becoming market leader in Europe in oscillating mowing technology and world market leader in the field of double blade technology. BUSATIS which was founded in 1888 was traditionally involved in the development of cutting knives and components for agriculture and forestry. BUSATIS followed and helped shape the development of cutting technologies from the beginning. The acquisition the double-blade cutting technology by ESM Ennepetaler Schneid- und Mähtechnik meant that the BUSATIS know-how and sophisticated technology were incorporated into the ESM production. ESM development has benefited from the acquisition of this BUSATIS technology. After the takeover the ESM Ennepetaler Schneid- und Mähtechnik philosophy was to constantly further develop and improve the BUSATIS double blade cutting technology. Since its foundation ESM Ennepetaler Schneid- und Mähtechnik has designed cutter bars and cutting systems and has registered several patents and protective rights in this respect.
