DIN 12733

Mowers designed for professional use are subject to a variety of safety guidelines and regulations (e.g. DIN 12733). ESM is extremely committed in this important area and has set new standards time and again. To minimize the dangers that can arise when using oscillating cutting and mowing technology, a number of safety measures for users have been determined by ESM. Furthermore, the Mowers are designed so that accidents and injuries are prevented. DIN 12733 refers to the safety precautions of hand-held motor mowers for the forestry and agricultural sectors, as well as landscape. The comprehensive analysis and listing of the hazards, as found in DIN 12733, had the initial objective of putting together a list all of a motor mower hazards. Then it is determined in detail and for each corresponding mower component, which devices, hazards, designs or other safety requirements and/or measures are to be observed. DIN 12733 covers safety requirements for motorized mowers in all imaginable fields and their proper inspection. As a traditional manufacturer of cutting systems for professional use Ennepetaler Schneid- und Mähtechnik has been involved in the development and improvement of technologies and safety in cutting systems for decades. The fulfilment of relevant standards, such as DIN 12733, in the production and new development of high quality cutting systems for motor mowers is part of the ESM production process. According to the legal requirements according to DIN 12733 the ESM Vertical flail attachment VS is equipped with an integrated blade brake. With the development of innovative automatic blade brake, ESM has managed to significantly raise the safety standards in this regard. The new knife brake system developed by ESM according to DIN 12733, has contributed significantly to improving safety at work in the area of rotary mowing technology. Through the special and well thought out design of the mechanism, the automatic connection and disconnection of the brake is in coordination with the PTO. Through this design an additional dead-man switch for the mower system is not necessary.
