Y-Flail knives
Patented ESM Y-flail blades with multi-stage cutting edge are used in particularly demanding mowing situations. In particular, when high and brushy areas are to be cut, mowers with Y-flail blades are the right choice. The reason for this is the special design of the mower. The vertical alignment of the drive shaft and the arrangement and shape of knives make flail mowers to very robust work devices. Y flail knives are mounted in pairs on the drive shaft and in this arrangement form the characteristic shape. Through rapid rotation of the mower shaft the flail mower cuts the clippings cleanly and powerfully. The robust mowing action proves to be advantageous and is superior to other cutting systems in extensive landscaping and mowing in the long intervals. Areas that are extensively managed, generally have a non?uniform growth. Tall grass is interspersed with thicket and even small trees and bushes. The thickness of the trunk of this vegetation would make a mowing with a cutting system that is not equipped with flail knives ineffective. The mowing would have to be frequently interrupted and the mowing process would be performed very cautiously. A mower that is based on our patented ESM Y-flail knives technology would be able to mow through such an overgrown field effortlessly. Tall grass, thicket and small trees are cut by the knives and finely shredded. The high-quality knives in ESM quality guarantee an extremely good cut. The resulting mulch is deposited cleanly and evenly. As with all ESM products the Y-flail knives are of very high quality, when in constant use gradual wear of the knives is naturally inevitable. When using the Y-flail knives, by rotating them 180 ° the knives are ready for use again. If the cutting surfaces of the Y-flail knives are blunted the blade must be changed. Blunt or damaged Y-flail knives can not be sharpened. When changing the blade safety notices in the operating instructions must be observed.
